CONVERSATION WITH MY MOM ON THE SEX TOY

22 Sep 2025 0 comments
I made a confession to my mom that i want to explore the sex toy business,
She stoped, stormed and remained silent.
That's the great reaction that i was not expecting,
Asian parent usually screem and ask " do you know what you are doing?"

The field is sth that she know little herself, curious and scared.
I pull out the drawer full of my vibrator testers, i saw the sparks in her eye, at the same time the flush on her face.

I made a confession to my mom that i want to explore the sex toy business,
She stoped, stormed and remained silent.
That's the great reaction that i was not expecting,
Asian parent usually screem and ask " do you know what you are doing?"

The curiousity to learn more with the akwardness regarding the topic, conflicting with each other.
She said that you shall design sth for modern woman like yourself, you are your own customers.
She also said that, once your product is ready, i would love to use it. That would be my first time using a sex toy.

The vibe of that conversation feesl really wholesome and comfortatble, safe and insightful conversation about sex, personal desire and how to self express.
, where i want to replicate the automoshphere in every single bedroom of the potential users of UOOMII,
Sexuality awareness, comfortable, sharable, and safe.

When I Told My Mom I’m Building a Sex Toy Brand

It started as a quiet moment over tea in my bedroom.
I told my mom, with a nervous smile, that I was starting a brand focused on sexual wellness. More specifically, I said: “Mom... I’m building a sex toy.”
She stopped mid-sip.
She didn’t scream — which, for an Asian mom, felt like a miracle.
Instead, she paused. Then furrowed her brows. And then… just sat in silence.
It wasn’t the loud rejection I’d braced myself for.
It was something deeper: curiosity, concern, and maybe even fear — not of me, but of the unknown.
You see, this is a space she had never stepped into herself.
A space full of myths, embarrassment, and cultural silence.
But something shifted when I gently opened my drawer and showed her my prototypes — the testers I had been working on for months. That’s when I saw it — a spark in her eyes. Flickering right alongside the unmistakable flush on her cheeks.
It was awkward, yes. But it was also one of the most wholesome, insightful, and safe conversations we’d ever had about our bodies, our desires, and how little we’d been taught to talk about either.
She looked at me and said, “You should design for women like yourself. You’re your own customer.”
Then she added something I’ll never forget: “When it’s ready… I’d love to try it. It would be my first time using one.”

That moment — that beautifully human conversation — is the seed from which UOOMII blossomed.
Because I realized that what we need isn’t just another product.
We need a new kind of atmosphere around intimacy:
Warm. Elegant. Empowering. Shareable. Safe.
So I designed Blossom, our first vibe, with all of that in mind.

A Bloom of Your Own

Blossom is not just a toy. It’s a ritual, a companion, a soft but powerful statement of self-awareness. Its shape — inspired by a lotus flower just about to bloom — is a quiet celebration of growth, womanhood, and reawakening.
It’s made to be proudly placed on your bedside table, not hidden in a drawer. It’s made to feel like your bestie in the bedroom — the kind who reminds you: “You’re allowed to feel good.”
It’s designed for comfort, but also power: 10 intensity modes, dual play design, and detachable tips that give you freedom to explore — solo or with a partner.
And if you’re almost 60 and just starting to explore your sensuality? Like my mom? Even better. There is no expiration date on intimacy, curiosity, or joy.

The good news? The right tools — and the right conversations — can turn cultural awkwardness into celebration.
That’s what UOOMII stands for.
And it all began with one daughter, one mother, and one long, blushing pause.
